The Senate Governance and Finance Committee took unanimous action today to pass legislation that will change the makeup on the Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD) Governing Board. SB 946, authored by Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar), replaces a member of the Yorba Linda City Council with the appointment of a member of the Yorba Linda Water District to the OCSD Governing Board. Senator Huff agreed to introduce legislation that revises the Community Facilities Law of 1911 at the request of the Yorba Linda Water District and the City of Yorba Linda.
The Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD) is a wastewater treatment facility that serves all of Orange County. It is the third largest wastewater treatment facility west of the Mississippi River. The agency’s purpose is to construct, operate, and maintain facilities that collect, treat, recycle, and dispose of domestic and industrial wastewater.
