Sebourn’s ballot statement:
City Hall continues to take more and give less. We can’t afford to pay more while streets are neglected and facilities are closed. I’ll demand accountability and stand up for all taxpayers and citizens, not the bureaucrats. I promise to scrutinize every corner of City Hall for cost savings, transparency, and effectiveness.
Our pension system is unsustainable.
Years of borrowing by the City Council acting as the Redevelopment Agency has left us with more than $500-million of debt and an $8-million dollar budget deficit.
Our embattled police department is under international scrutiny after several allegations of officer misconduct and even murder.
The City Council appointed me to the Citizen’s Infrastructure Review Commission to find solutions to fixing our infrastructure. I identified what the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association has called an illegal water tax that robs the Water Fund of about $2.5-million per year.
As complex as these issues may be deemed by some, they should be easily understood by those who pay for them, the taxpayer.
For nearly 40 years I’ve called Fullerton my home where my wife and I are raising our children. We’re active in our church, schools, and community.
I’d be honored to receive your vote.
