OCDA SEEKS PUBLIC’S HELP IDENTIFYING POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL VICTIMS OF FORMER JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER CHARGED WITH MOLESTING TWO MINOR STUDENTS
FULLERTON – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) is seeking the public’s help identifying potential additional victims of a former junior high school special education teacher who was arraigned today for molesting two students under the age of 18. Shauna Marie Sims, 35, Brea, is charged with three felony counts of performing lewd acts upon a child between the ages of 14 and 15, one felony count of unlawful sexual intercourse, and one misdemeanor count of child annoyance. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and one year in jail as well as mandatory lifetime sex offender registration. Sims is out of custody on $30,000 bail and her arraignment was continued today to June 19, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. in Department N-12, North Justice Center, Fullerton.
Between June and Sept. 2014, Sims was a special education teacher at Parks Junior High School (PJHS) in Fullerton. On at least three separate occasions during that time, the defendant is accused of performing lewd acts on 14-year-old John Doe 1. Continue reading
