This Fourth of July, ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’
SANTA ANA, Calif. – (July 2, 2014) – This Fourth of July families and friends will gather to celebrate our country with parades, parties and fireworks. For many people the celebration includes alcohol, but the holiday quickly goes from festive to fatal when people choose to drive after drinking.
To crack down on drug and alcohol impaired driving this Fourth of July the ‘Avoid the 38’ DUI Task Force will be out in full force, aggressively targeting those who put lives in danger. The DUI task force will be deploying deputies and officers to DUI/Driver’s License checkpoints in the cities of Buena Park, Cypress, Irvine and Laguna Niguel, and DUI saturation patrols in the cities of Anaheim, Brea, Irvine, Orange, Westminster, CSU Fullerton, and several cities within the Sheriff’s Department contract area. FULLERTON: The July 4th tradition continues in the City of Fullerton as they prepare for its annual Independence Day celebration with its 24th Annual Community Fireworks Show and Festival. The festival will be held from 5:00 – 9:30 p.m. at the Fullerton High School Stadium, which is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Berkeley Avenue and Lemon Street. No alcohol, animals, personal fireworks, glass, canopies or umbrellas will be allowed in the stadium. Admission is free. Entertainment for the night will be provided by “The Jann Browne Band.” Browne, a country music artist, has twice been named “Entertainer of the Year.” Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. and last for approximately 20 minutes. There will be live music by Soundbytes and additional entertainment.
ANAHEIM: Disneyland, 1313 S. Harbor Blvd., will host “Celebrate America! A 4th of July Concert in the Sky,” which will take place four nights, July 1- July 4, at 9:25 p.m.
ANAHEIM: Angel Stadium. The Angels will play the Houston Astros at 6:05 p.m. with a firework display after the game. Continue reading
