To raise awareness about the importance of car seat safety, California State Senator Lou Correa joins forces with U.S. Bank, Friendly Center, California Highway Patrol, Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Orange County National Latino Peace Officers Association to offer a free car seat safety workshop on Friday, May 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Friendly Center located at 8421 Orangewood Ave. in Garden Grove.
“As a father, the safety of our children is a top priority for me,” said Senator Lou Correa. “Statistics show that eight out of 10 child car seats are not installed properly, which put our children at risk. This event is about the safety of our children, and educating our families about the importance of using car seats while driving.”
The event will provide legislative updates on children’s safety and information on public safety, and the California Highway Patrol will educate parents on properly installing car seats by conducting car seat safety checks, so children are safe on the road. Children must be present for a proper car seat safety check.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, click here.
