SACRAMENTO: Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) today issued the following statement in response to the California Chamber of Commerce’s annual legislative scorecard:
“The Chamber’s scorecard shows state government sees the need to improve California’s job climate, and that’s good. It also shows that Republicans in the California State Senate have been strong and consistent in their efforts to grow and protect jobs.”
“But let’s look at the bigger picture. In recent weeks, hundreds of thousands of families’ lives were shaken by the needless delay of their unemployment checks. The state auditor’s office has released several reports this year showing how lax state government officials have wasted time and money. We’ve seen waste in jobs programs for veterans, lax oversight of Drug Medi-Cal rehabilitation clinics, and even Get-Out-The-Vote efforts at the Secretary of State’s office. Squandering money cheats people out of the services they’ve been paying for.”
