By Sean Paden | The acquittal of Manual Ramos and Jay Cicinelli will likely be the number one topic on most people’s minds during tomorrow’s City Council meeting, and deservedly so.
Tomorrow night’s agenda (1/21) does not have any item specifically addressing the verdict or the aftermath (except potentially Item #12, which is supposed to be an update regarding the trial of the officers). There are several agenda items which will deal with the disposition of millions of dollars of assets acquired during redevelopment, an effort to replace several board members previously appointed by the Council, as well as a very suspicious giveaway of City resources. A brief summary is provided below:
Agenda Item #3: Transfer of Fullerton Redevelopment Agency Capital Assets from the City of Fullerton to the Fullerton Successor Agency
This item will authorize the City to transfer approximately $21.5 million dollars in assets (primarily real property) from the City of Fullerton to the Fullerton Successor Agency. Successor Agency, as you know, was created for the ostensible purpose of dissolving the assets from the Redevelopment Agency (which acquired these properties in the first place) but rather than sell the properties they were transferred to the City.
