Mission Market owner Foss attends White House Workshop and joins other entrepreneurs, government leaders and corporate partners in generating high-impact ideas to help veterans. According to government figures, military veterans are more likely to become entrepreneurs than non-veterans with similar characteristics. Their propensity towards self-employment has a large impact on our economy: an estimated $1.2-1.5 trillion in economic activity is created by veteran-owned businesses.
Attending the workshop at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, D.C. were representatives from corporate partners like Wal-Mart, Bank of America, CitiBank and executive agencies like the National Economic Council and Small Business Administration (SBA). Each brought their unique perspectives to brainstorm around such focus areas as access to capital, franchising and improving the Boots to Business program.
