The term “business planning,” is very often met with feelings of dread and apprehension. It conjures up images of stuffy office meetings and words thrown around such as “budgets,” or “forecasting.” Even so, we all know that business planning is a vital task, and putting in a few hours here and there can really make a large impact on the progression and growth of your business. The information gathered during the planning process can inform a company about potential risks, competitors, and financial issues that may arise. It is not unusual for a financial institution to require a business plan as part of its consideration of your loan application. After all, a lender will need to see a concrete plan of revenue maximization and expense control to help assess the risk of lending you money!
