This morning at approximately 6:30 a.m., deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the 6000 block of Calle Entrada in Yorba Linda regarding a home invasion robbery, according to an OCSD press release, which also reported that:
A suspicious occupied vehicle was located in the area and deputies later determined it was related to the incident. A female driver, identified as Ariyana Hearod, 21, of Los Angeles, was contacted and later arrested. A male suspect, later identified as Ronald Phillips, 21, of Riverside, fled the scene on foot.
The Sheriff’s Department used patrol K9’s, bloodhounds, air support and tactical personnel, which ultimately led to the location and arrest of Phillips. Property taken during the robbery was located in bushes near the residence. The victims were a male in his mid-70’s and a female in her early 60’s. The female victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries and has since been released.
In recent months, Yorba Linda citizens have partnered with the Sheriff’s Department and taken a more active role in looking for suspicious behavior in their neighborhoods. “It all starts with neighbors looking out for their neighbors,” said Lt. Robert Wren, Chief of Police Services for Yorba Linda. “One phone call got us there. A neighbor knew something wasn’t right and he took the initiative to call 911. We took it from there.”
We found someone by the name of “Ariyana Hearod” in Facebook at this link. She graduated from Animo South Los Angeles Charter High and appears to be 21 years old. The FB page includes this picture:
We are not sure if this is the suspect who was arrested as that could not be verified.
