Residents from the Woodcrest neighborhood in south Fullerton will host the Woodcrest Bike Ride on July 25, as part of the Habitat for Humanity of Orange County Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative and the OCTA BikeShare program. The Woodcrest Community Bike Ride will begin at 10 a.m. and will take residents from the Fullerton Train Station to the Fullerton Arboretum.
Using bikes provided by the OCTA BikeShare program, 10 residents will tour the city of Fullerton using Wilshire Blvd. and Acacia Ave. as a way to access the city in a more efficient way while also getting healthy. The Woodcrest neighborhood residents hope this program grows and motivates local residents to get involved in the healthy achiever challenge, which challenges participants to get healthy.
The Woodcrest Bike Ride, hosted by local residents, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, and Neighborworks in collaboration with the city of Fullerton and the OCTA Bike Share program, marks another step forward in the Habitat for Humanity of Orange County Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative which is a collaborative, grassroots effort to improve the Woodcrest neighborhood by altering the physical and social surroundings.
