Jamiee Rawlings, 15, of Fullerton, a 9th grader at Fullerton High School, has been honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award. The award will be presented at a ceremony to be held during an awards assembly at the Fullerton High School Stadium (corner of Lemon and Berkeley Ave.) at 8:00am; on May 15, 2014.
The award, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country, was granted the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program on behalf of President Barack Obama. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fullerton nominated Jamiee for national honors this fall in recognition of her volunteer service.
Jamiee volunteered to help kids with homework, assisted staff with sports leagues, attended field trips as a chaperone, volunteered to feed families at Thanksgiving, participated in the Christmas gift give away. Her energy is infectious and creates positive interactions with others. We are PROUD of Jamiee! Jamiee is special to our club because others follow her positive example. Her attitude is contagious! Her smile brightens the room and her potential is limitless.-Mario Galindo
