Josh Newman
It looks like local Democrats in the 55th Assembly District are not happy with the party leaders who recruited a carpetbagger, former Irvine Councilman Sukhee Kang, to run for Bob Huff’s seat in the 29th State Senate District.
A Democrat in Fullerton named Josh Newman is considering running against Kang for Huff’s seat. Josh Newman, is an Army veteran and he is the founder and executive director of ArmedForce2WorkForce.org, a non-profit that helps vets find work. He is also the vice president of the Democrats of North Orange County and is active with the state Democratic party, according to the O.C. Register.
Assemblywoman Ling Ling Chang is the Republican Party’s candidate to replace State Senator Bob Huff, in the 29th State Senate District. Huff is terming out in 2016.
Chang was recruited by GOP leadership because the GOP now has only a three percent lead in registration in the 29th State Senate District, and many of the voters in this district are Asian. It is unlikely that she will face any competition from other Republican candidates.
It is quite likely that the O.C. Democratic machine, which admittedly is a terribly weak one, will try to threaten Newman to refrain from challenging Kang. He should of course ignore them. He has worked hard for his party and is from the district, while Kang moved into the district just this year.
It should also be noted that Kang’s political prowess is much in question. He is party of the corrupt Agranista cabal and as such he owns much of the blame for the mess at the O.C. Great Park, where millions of dollars were spent on P.R. consultants by Kang and his colleagues, Beth Krom and Larry Agran.
Kang obviously ran away from Irvine because of the blow back from the Great Park audit.
The 29th District includes the cities of Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park, Chino Hills, City of Industry, Cypress, Diamond Bar, Fullerton, La Habra, La Habra Heights, La Palma, Placentia, Rowland Heights, Stanton, Walnut, West Covina and Yorba Linda.
