Governor Jerry Brown was joined by Assembly Speaker John Perez and Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg today to unveil emergency drought legislation to alleviate the impacts of California’s water crisis.
As the state deals with one of the driest periods on record, the legislation is said to provide $687.4 million in funding to increase local water supplies and help communities that are affected by the extremely dry conditions. The announcement comes on the heels of President Obama’s visit to the Central Valley last week where he saw firsthand several drought-stricken areas of the state. “This is a call to action.” Gov.
