Cal State Fullerton and its center for sustainability are joining other county agencies Saturday, May 24, in supporting the “P21 Our Future Now Sustainability Showcase.”
The 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. program at Cal State Fullerton will spotlight sustainability experiences among Orange County students from the ages of kindergarten through grade 12.
“This showcase provides an opportunity for the community to see the great work being done by Orange County schools in the area of sustainability. These primary, middle and high school students have been able to participate in hands-on experiences through the efforts and mentoring of public school teachers, faculty, students and community members,” said John Bock, professor of anthropology and director of the CSUF Center for Sustainability.
In addition to displays and exhibitions of student projects, students will speak on their research experiences. Displays and exhibits by local organizations including Discovery Science Center, Ocean Institute, CSUF Recycles, U-ACRE, and Fullerton Arboretum also will be featured.
State Sen. Lou Correa, Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva and Mike Matuda, superintendent of the Anaheim Unified High School District, are among the speakers during the morning program in the Titan Student Union.
