The Orange County Transit Authority and Caltrans will mark the completion of the Orange Freeway (SR-57) Northbound Widening Project from Orangethorpe Ave. to Lambert Rd. with a ceremony at the Brea Mall on Wednesday, May 14 from 9 to 10 a.m. The mall is located at 200 S. State College Blvd. in Brea. The event will take place at the parking lot on the northeast corner of State College and Brea Mall north.

The Senate Health Committee voted unanimously to approve SB 1266 by Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) which requires public schools to stock epinephrine auto injectors – commonly known as epi-pens – on campus. According to expert testimony during the committee hearing, this critically important medicine can be administered quickly and safely if a student suffers from a serious allergic reaction during school hours. California law allows public schools to stock epinephrine, but does not require it.
“This bill will save lives by ensuring emergency medication is available at schools, so we can be sure that all students with allergies are safe at school even when they don’t know they have any allergy,” Senator Huff said. “Anaphylaxis is a potentially lethal allergic reaction and the number of children with this condition is skyrocketing. It can happen when a person is stung by a bee, ingests food such as shellfish or nuts, or even comes in contact with something as …read more

Forget the image of senior dining featuring boring buffets, institutional décor and tranquil mood music. At Morningside of Fullerton, a continuing care retirement community, pizza ovens, smoothies, a wine room, and a casual bar and lounge will be the order of the day after a major renovation is completed this summer.
Morningside, 327 independent living residences located at 800 Morningside Dr. in Fullerton, recently launched an extensive renovation of its clubhouse dining facilities. The 13,500-square-foot dining and kitchen area, which encompasses the entire downstairs space of the community’s clubhouse, will be totally re-imagined as part of a national trend toward cozier, more casual dining for seniors.
