Tickets are now on sale to the general public for the TEDXOrangeCoast September 20-21 conference at Segerstrom Center in Costa Mesa.
The conference will bring together the leading innovative and imaginative thinkers and will take you along on a thought-provoking journey centered around the theme “Beautiful Minds.”
Last year’s events attracted more than 2,000 participants and featured 15-year-old Jack Andraka, who introduced his scientific invention: an early detection test for pancreatic cancer.
In addition to world-renowned speakers, the conference will showcase the winners of the second annual TEDxChallenge and TEDxTeenChallenge. They are designed to recognize exceptional talents who have innovative ideas that make a positive impact on the community. Speakers for the event include Dr. Kary Mullis who received a Nobel Prize in chemistry for his invention of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR); Ron Finley, charismatic founder of L.A. Green Grounds, a volunteer organization that installs gardens in vacant, blighted lots; and high school senior Sara Volz who won the 2013 Intel Science Talent Search by demonstrating how to create biofuel from algae.
