St. Jude will feature “Bodies…The Exhibition 600-lb. Heart Sculpture” at the Brea Mall,  Thursday, July 25 – Sunday, July 28.

Chamber members are invited to visit and learn about the heart through presentations, and health education. Expert will be on hand for questions and the exhibit will also feature free health screenings, raffles, and more.

Roland Foss, owner of Mission Market in downtown Fullerton, knows he is lucky to have received a small-business startup loan.  After calling dozens of banks and credit unions, Foss received a friendly reception at Credit Union of Southern California.  He eventually received a $154,000 loan to pay for site improvements, equipment, fixtures, and inventory. Richard Clough, in “Small-business lending picks up” in the July 23, 2013 Orange County Register, writes that business lending is picking up in Orange County, increasing 14% in the last three months. The Muckenthaler Cultural Center is pleased to announce the much anticipated special People to People tour to Cuba scheduled for January 10 – 19, 2014. For the first time in many decades, Cuba—the 1950s playground of Americans—is once again open to Americans for US Treasury Department licensed People to People programs by licensed operators.

Cuba is an interesting land where time has stopped due to many factors including the decades-long US Embargo. Yet, Cuba is full of culture; including great architecture, music and fine arts. In addition, Cuba has a fascinating railroad history.

The Fullerton Public Library is pleased to sponsor another local artist concert with the harmonious music of “Partners In Chime,” a 20 member orchestra of hand-held chime ringers. Hand-chimes, which are similar to hand-bells, have complex harmonies with dimensional overtones. The “Partners In Chime” concert is Monday July 29 and starts at 7pm, seating at 6:30 p.m.

The concert will be held in the Osborne Auditorium, famous for its acoustics and intimate experience of performances. This Concert is produced by Lew Dentler, a local talent supporter, and Director of Fullerton Library, Maureen Gebelein.
