Deadline Extended for Capitol Contest Art Show Submissions
Winning Artist Submissions to be Displayed at State Capitol
SACRAMENTO: The entry deadline for the annual California State Senate art show, which features local artwork from every corner of California, has been extended to encourage additional submissions. Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) is encouraging artists from the 29th Senate District to submit as many works as they would like, but the entries must be received by Friday, April 19th, 2013. Senator Huff will select the entry that best represents his district, which covers portions of Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties. The winning entry will be displayed at the Capitol from June 2013 – September 2014. Continue reading

On a Friday evening in February I arrived at the Fullerton Police Department to go on my first ride-a-long at night with an officer that polices in the area around my office. While words may never do my experience justice, here’s a sample of the situations I witnessed:
