An unidentified male transient was hospitalized in critical condition Friday morning after a car struck him at the 3000 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue, in Fullerton, just south of Buena Park High School, according to the O.C. Register.
The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old man, was driving a Mercedes-Benz at around 1:45 a.m., eastbound, when he struck the victim, who was crossing the street going northbound, outside of a crosswalk.
The police found the victim in the middle of the street with serious injuries. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange and is in critical condition.
The victim has not been identified as he did not have any identification with him.
The driver, who was not identified, stayed at the accident scene and spoke to the police. The police indicated that he did not appear to be intoxicated.
The police closed lanes on West Orangethorpe Avenue for at least four hours during the investigation.
