Sukhee Kang, the carpetbagger from Irvine, is having a rough time in today’s primary election in the 29th State Senate District. He is dead last in the early ballot results, according to the O.C. Voter Registrar.
The leading candidate tonight, so far, in the 29th State Senate District, is Ling Ling Chang, a Republican State Assemblywoman, who has 22,490 votes.
Kang is behind another Democrat, Josh Newman. Kang has 10,646 votes while Newman has 12,840 votes.
Kang spent many years on the Irvine City Council, where he joined his colleagues Larry Agran and Beth Krom in blowing millions of taxpayer dollars on the Great Park, which was never fully developed on his watch.
It is quite possible that Kang’s Senate race was sunk by Fullerton community activist Tony Bushala, who paid to put up “No Kang, Carpetbagger” signs all over the district. Bushala has used similar tactics in the past to defeat another Irvine carpetbagger who ran for the Fullerton City Council. With all the Koreans living in Fullerton you would think the Democrats could recruit some of them to run for political office rather than importing Koreans from Irvine.
