Two plaintiffs sued the City of Fullerton in late 2014 for allegedly violating the California Voting Rights Act. The plaintiffs claim the City’s at-large elections allegedly dilute the voting power of minority voters and/or prevent them from electing the candidate(s) of their choice. The City has entered into a settlement agreement with the plaintiffs to settle the litigation by placing a ballot measure before the voters in November 2016 to establish a district-based election system.

One hour appointments are available on January 9, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21 and 22 between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm on weekdays and between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm on Saturdays at Fullerton City Hall.
