The Los Angeles Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) has presented Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) with the 2014 “Legislator of the Year” Award for both authoring and supporting legislation that will help create new jobs and business opportunities in California.
The Los Angeles Chapter cited Senator Huff for his deep understanding of infrastructure and education issues that are of importance to the engineering community and for the Senator’s efforts to create new jobs and business opportunities by increasing the number of private contracts that are awarded for state funded infrastructure projects.
“We believe in promoting an environment that results in the positive development of our local communities by influencing regulations and sources of project funding to enhance business opportunities,” said Kelly Asper, Executive Director of the ACEC Los Angeles County Chapter. “Senator Huff not only understands the importance of what we do, he is aware of the positive impact we make for Los Angeles County.”
