What: Press Conference announcing completion of newly installed drought solution saving millions of gallons of drinking water at the Hotel Fullerton; presentation of recognition from local, county, state and federal officials.
When: April 15, 2015, 11:00 AM PST
Where: The Hotel Fullerton, 1500 S Raymond Ave, Fullerton, CA 92831
Why: As California enters its fourth straight year of a drought with nearly bone-dry reservoirs, local businesses are leading the effort to deliver solutions for California’s environmental safety. By replacing its former sprawling grass greenbelts, The Hotel Fullerton will not only save an estimated 1,281,900 gallons of water per year, but will experience a savings of approximately $50,000 per year in the process. Over the next fifteen years, an estimated 19,000,000 gallons of drinking water will be saved.
This is one of many initiatives that offers not only a solution to our drought but also a taxpayer incentive to make a difference. The press conference will cover recent scientific advances that have resulted in a more comfortable, authentic and safe synthetic grass experience. These groundbreaking advances mean that, moving forward, the biggest difference between costly real grass and synthetic turf is the hundreds of thousands of dollars and millions of gallons of water saved over the course of a decade.
