Today is the last day of the Railroad Days event in Fullerton. Here is the official press release:
We did it! Sponsors have stepped up to help cover the costs so Railroad Days in Fullerton can continue with its 13th year as a FREE community event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 4 & 5 at the Train Station, presented by the Southern California Railway Plaza Association.
And a lineup of our most-ever featured rail exhibitors will be open for tours — led by Amtrak’s Exhibit Train, stretching 520 feet along the tracks; a BNSF modern diesel freight locomotive; Disneyland Railroad’s Ernest S. Marsh Locomotive #4 and three vintage cabooses. Continue reading

Parents and their young children are invited to the Fullerton Museum Center’s popular “Stroller Brigade” for the The Curious World of Patent Models. Every Wednesday from through September 19, parents and grandparents of children 5 and under are invited to bring their children and grandchildren to the museum to view the exhibit and take part in special programs. KOMEN ORANGE COUNTY ADDS OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEERS TO 2013-2014 BOARD, APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT
COSTA MESA, Calif., April 18, 2013 – Susan G. Komen Orange County has announced its 2013-2014 Board of Directors to lead the organization’s efforts this year to provide local breast health services for uninsured and underserved women and men and raise funds for breast cancer research. The Komen board appointed Lynn Jolliffe, Executive VP Human Resources, Ingram Micro, Inc. as new board president and also added two new members.
“Since joining the board in 2011, I have seen Komen Orange County spearhead a number of breast health initiatives and help spur technological advances through its fundraising,” said Jolliffe. “I look forward to leading many of the organization’s efforts this year, including the Komen tissue bank drive in November, the first healthy breast tissue drive west of the Mississippi to help accelerate research and breast cancer prevention.” Continue reading
