Assemblywoman Young Kim Named Emerging Leader for 2015
FULLERTON – Assemblywoman Young Kim (R-Fullerton) announced that she was named to GOPAC’s 2015 Class of Emerging Leaders. Kim joins a class of 22 other honorees from across the country.
“I’m honored to be named one of GOPAC’s Emerging Leaders of 2015,” said Kim. “I look forward taking this opportunity to learn from diverse leaders across the country how to best serve the constituents of the 65th District.”
The Emerging Leaders program is a yearlong initiative to coach and develop state legislators from across the country on how to be effective legislative and political leaders. To be selected, an emerging leader must be nominated by a member of the organization’s Legislative Leaders Advisory Board or the legislative leader in their state.
“Our Emerging Leaders program ensures a roster of prepared and tested Republicans ready to lead in their state legislatures and run for higher office.” said GOPAC Chairman David Avella. “As evidenced by past honorees now serving in Congress or as leaders in their state legislative chambers, this program has proven effective at advancing the Republican Party’s next generation.”
Assemblywoman Kim represents the communities of Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, La Palma and Stanton in the California State Assembly. She is the first Korean American Republican woman to serve in the California State Legislature.
