The Fullerton Chamber of Commerce, has announced its support of a proposal set forth to the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Women’s Business Ownership to establish the Orange County Women’s Business Center (OCWBC) within California State University, Fullerton Mihaylo College of Business and Economics for the purpose of offering technical and leadership assistance, capital infusion, and coordination of services targeting women-owned and women-controlled small businesses in Orange County.
As the largest Chamber of Commerce in North Orange County, Fullerton Chamber of Commerce considers the OCWBC a valuable addition and compliment to existing partner organizations in the growing effort to ensure the advancement of women entrepreneurs and to expand the economic impact of Orange County’s women-owned enterprises. The Chamber is committed to supporting the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics’ proposed initiative.
In the United States, more than 9.1 million firms are owned by women, employing nearly 7.9 million individuals, and generating $1.4 trillion in sales as of 2014. Furthermore, one in five businesses with annual revenues of more than $1 billion are owned by women.
