“Airport Day” is celebrated every two years. It’s designed to showcase the Airport and the important role it plays in providing service not only to Fullerton, but to all of North Orange County. In keeping with this goal, the Orange County Fire Authority, the Anaheim Police Department , the California Highway Patrol and other public agencies will display their air operations at the airport, and some will be open for tours.
Many names in the aviation industry and the Fullerton community also participate in Airport Day with static displays, helicopter and airplane rides, information booths, games, and activities for children and adults. These organizations include airport businesses, the Fullerton Airport Pilots Association, the Civil Air Patrol, Air Combat USA, the Fullerton Public Library, and the Fullerton Police and Fire departments, among others.
This year, Airport Day is in conjunction with Trains, Planes, & Automobiles Transportation Celebration in Fullerton, a trio of successive weekends in May beginning with Railroad Days at the Fullerton Transportation Center, continuing with Airport Day, and ending with the Muckenthaler Motor Car Festival at the Muckenthaler Cultural Arts Center. Please visit the website at http://transportationcelebration.com for dates, other details, and more information on the Grand Prize Raffle drawing.
