A California Chamber of Commerce “job killer” bill that will increase the already-high costs of doing business in California has passed the Assembly Judiciary Committee.
AB 1522 (Gonzalez; D-San Diego) increases employer mandates by requiring all employers, large and small, to provide all employees in California with paid sick leave, and threatens employers with statutory penalties as well as litigation for alleged violations.
Legislation that would sharply increase California’s minimum wage and index it to inflation cleared its first legislative hurdle Wednesday.
