SACRAMENTO – On Veterans Day 1996, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) unveiled a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., designed to travel to communities throughout the United States. Today, Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva along with fellow colleagues joined VVMF at the California State Capitol opening ceremony of The Wall That Heals exhibition.
“As Chair of the Assembly Veterans Affairs Committee, I believe it is incredibly important to honor those who have made countless sacrifices for our country. It is our duty to serve our Veterans just as they have served us. The Wall That Heals not only pays respect our nation’s heroes, but we hope, also serves as a lasting memory for their families,” says Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva.
