Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) has introduced new legislation that seeks to change the makeup on the Orange County Sanitation District governing board by replacing a member of the Yorba City Council with the appointment of a member of the Yorba Linda Water District. The revision of the Community Facilities Law of 1911 is spelled out in SB 946, which Senator Huff agreed to introduce at the request of the Yorba Linda Water District and the City of Yorba Linda.
The Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD) is a wastewater treatment facility that serves all of Orange County. It is the third largest wastewater treatment facility west of the Mississippi River. The agency’s purpose is to construct, operate, and maintain facilities that collect, treat, recycle, and dispose of domestic and industrial wastewater. The OCSD Board of Directors is comprised of 25 members, representing municipalities, water and wastewater agencies throughout North and Central Orange County.
