FULLERTON, CA— As the wave of craft beer begins to crest, Bourbon Street Bar and Grill in Fullerton is offering something new: an ‘Unpretentious Wine Thursday’ for new and old friends to converse in cheerful pockets throughout the restaurant, alongside the bar, and outside on a lovely heated wraparound patio from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at Bourbon Street Bar and Grill, 110 E. Commonwealth Ave. in Downtown Fullerton in Orange County, February 20, March 20, and every third Thursday of subsequent months through 2014. Flyer: http://bourbonstreetfullerton.com/private-parties/
The $10 per-person event is reflective of new trends in beverages across the nation for “innovation” wines that are good-tasting and easy to drink immediately upon opening.
The only location in Fullerton offering a wine pairing with this accessible approach and at this price point, visitors of the new informal monthly series will enjoy three wines from a featured vintner with three pairings of hearty, thoughtful, seasonal and local small plates as part of this unique downtown Fullerton experience, including the following wines and plates in upcoming months:
February 20 – New Orleans Cuisine paired with Brassfield Wines
· Serenity Pinot Grigio blend with Shrimp & Grits
· Pinot Noir with Cajun Penne Pasta with Andouille Sausage
· Eruption Red Blend with Cajun Meatloaf with Tomato Creole Glaze
March 20 – Classic Comfort Dining paired with Rosenblum Wines
· Viognier with Bacon and Gouda Mac & Cheese
· Zinfandel with Achiote rubbed pork chop
· Syrah with Blackened Salmon with Lemon Caper Sauce
Says Bourbon Street co-owner and unpretentious wine enthusiast John Skehan, “With this new wine series, we are showing a newer, gentler face of our restaurant and bar. And these wines are really good.”
