Health Care Confusion Continues
What provisions are in place? What does the delay in the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act mean for employers? Who needs to be insured? What are the requirements and penalties for employers? Gerald Kominski, Ph. D., will address these questions and more at a special forum presented by Fullerton Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with St. Jude Medical Center. Kominski, Ph.D., professor of Health Policy and Management and director of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, is regarded as an expert in the field, has focused research on evaluating the effects of the Affordable Care Act on insured and uninsured populations. He also has conducted numerous studies evaluating the costs of health care programs and technologies, with a special emphasis on public insurance programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Workers’ Compensation. He is currently working with the California Health Benefit Exchange Board, known as Covered California, to determine eligibility and likely enrollment in the subsidized Exchange starting in 2014.
