YORBA LINDA, CA—With a focus on providing innovative vision care to the underserved, the third annual Shared Visions Gala will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library located at 18001 Yorba Linda Blvd., in Yorba Linda, CA.
The Shared Visions Gala is the signature event for Marshall B. Ketchum University of Fullerton, CA, a new name for an expanded University including Southern California College of Optometry and the new School of Physician Assistant Studies.
A special V-Award will be presented to honorees for their volunteer and humanitarian services, with past recipients including Thomas Tooma, M.D., a pioneer in the world of LASIK surgery, and Natalia Olenicoff, VP of Olen Properties Corporation Commercial Division, who is dedicated to helping people affected by vision impairment and blindness.
The Gala program includes selections from the Shared Visions Art Exhibit, showcasing works by blind or visually impaired artists, with some of the artists in attendance at the Gala.
For a third year, Frances and Steve Knott of Fullerton will serve as Honorary Co-Chairs, and PBS SoCal producer, reporter and host Maria Hall-Brown will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies.
A silent auction will be held with proceeds of the Gala going toward the facilitation of healthcare education and the innovative delivery of care to the underserved in the community.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT STUDIES: The University has applied for accreditation pending approval from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and provisional accreditation from the Accreditation Review Commission on the Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The School of Physician Assistant Studies at Marshall B. Ketchum University anticipates matriculating its first class in August 2014, pending WASC approval and accreditation-provisional from ARC-PA. Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status for a new PA program that has not yet enrolled students, but at the time of its initial accreditation review has demonstrated its preparedness to initiate a program in accordance with the accreditation Standards.
